Binary Steganography

Turn binary data into visual patterns. Explore bit-level steganography concepts and generate exportable pixel art — privately in your browser.

How visual binary steganography works here

After you convert text with our text to binary tool, each bit can be drawn on a canvas: typically 1 as a filled cell and 0 as a quieter mark. The grid size grows with ceil(√bitLength) so longer messages produce larger patterns.

  1. Encode a message to binary (or paste bits).
  2. Open the Steganography tab on the home suite.
  3. Preview the grid and export a PNG.

This is ideal for teaching bit layouts, creating shareable “secret” art, or illustrating encoding — not for high-security covert channels.

Steganography vs hex dumps

If you need to inspect real file bytes (headers, magic numbers, corruption), use the hex dump viewer. Steganography visualizes a bitstring as art; the hex viewer shows the raw structure of uploaded files without sending them to a server.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is binary steganography?

It is a way to represent or hide binary data inside another medium — for example turning bits into a pixel pattern so the message is visual rather than plain 0s and 1s.

Is this the same as hiding data in image files?

Classic steganography embeds secrets inside JPEG/PNG payloads. Our Visual Steganography tool instead renders bits as a grid of shapes you can export as PNG — educational and decorative, not covert file embedding.

Do you upload my data?

No. Pattern generation runs in the browser with the Canvas API. Export stays on your device.
